Buyer F.A.Q.
Coder F.A.Q.
I have a program I’d
like created or a technical question I need answered.
How does Coder For Rent help me find what I am looking for?
Coder For Rent takes your request for a project or your question and
exposes it to experts from around the world. Each expert has the option to
post their skillset and past experience online for you to view anytime. These
"coders" will bid on your project or question and all you have to do is pick the
one that you feel has the best skill set and reputation to meet your needs.
What does this service cost?
There is no fee
charged for our Basic Project. There may be other project types available
in the future or project management tools that will be optional and may have a cost associated with them.
How do I pay the coder?
You generally don't pay the coder directly. When you accept
a bid, you will be taken through a series of steps that will determine how much
money you need to deposit in your account. At the end of the process, you
can add money to your account by using PayPal (Paypal fees apply), sending us a
certified check or money order, or using a credit card (with a 5% processing fee).
After you make your deposit, that money is saved for your coder until you decide
that the project has been completed. When you accept the results of the project,
we will release the funds to the coder.
I am a U.S. business or citizen. Do I have to mail yearly IRS
1099 forms to all coders I hire?
No, we take care of this for you. One less thing for you to worry about!
How are buyer and seller disputes
handled (arbitration)?
According to the Coder For Rent Rules and Regulation, if either party feels that
they have been treated unjustly, it is up to them to take all necessary courses
of action against the other party. Coder For Rent is not responsible for your
project or your bid. There are no guarantees, implied or stated, that a coder
will complete the work that you have requested in part or full. If a party
wants Coder For Rent to arbitrate the settlement, then a signed, formal request
must be sent to us. Arbitration will not commence without this document.
Upon receiving the signed document, the other party is notified that the arbitration
has been requested and a meeting time will be set up to review both sides of the
project. All decisions that Coder For Rent makes in an arbitration are to be considered
a final judgement. The fee for arbitration is taken out of the money collected
when the bid is accepted and the amount depends on the size of the project and is
according to the following scale*:
| Accepted Bid Amount |
Fee (minimum) | | $0 - $1000 | 10% ($20 minimum) | | $1000 - $5000 | 7.5% ($100 minimum) | | $5000+ | 5% ($300 minimum) | | * Fees are subject to change at any time and
without notice |
What
if I don’t know how much my project is worth?
You never have to accept a bid, so setting the maximum bid accepted to a high
value really doesn't hurt you. Most of the time, there will be a coder that
can estimate the value of the project accuarately and will bid accordingly.
It is not recommend that you set the maximum bid accepted to a value higher than
your budget allows however.
What protections are there for buyers?
Coder For Rent strives to make your experience here a productive and safe time.
There are many things that we do to protect you as a buyer and here are a few:
1) Always check the coder's ratings and comments that other buyers have left for
projects in the past.
2) We hold your money until you say that the project is complete. That way
you can be sure that the coder will not run away with your money leaving you empty
handed.
3) In a time when intellectual property rights are so important, you need a Non-Disclosure
agreement that protects your companies rights. If you do not have one, we
recommend getting one first.
4) We give you access to top notch project management tools
such as SprintTracker
and the SpecBuilder. This ensures that you can track the progress of your
coder as each step is completed.
5) In extreme cases, arbitration can be requested from Coder For Rent.
This does not guarantee that you will get the outcome you are looking for, but it
does give you another option if you feel that you have been treated unjustly. See the fee table and information above for more information.
How is my financial and personal information kept safe?
State of the art technologies, including 128 bit SSL encryption, is used to project
all important information. Our databases and systems are secured according
to industry leading technical guides to ensure that your information doesn't fall
into the wrong hands.
